Did you know that your surroundings have an impact on how you think and feel? Studies have shown that this is unequivocally true, it is called psychogeography. How do you feel when you venture into nature? It is not coincidental that city planners require a public urban park for a specific number of populations. Also, let me ask, would you prefer to climb a stairway that spirals or one that rigidly goes straight up? If we want motivation to become a habit, we need to consider our surroundings at our place of work or at home. Shapes, configurations, and the contours of our surroundings have a psychological and visceral impact on all of us whether we want to admit it or not. True, there is only so much that we can change in the matter of design around us, however, we can always add a splash of colors such as Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red of which are colors in nature, and this can have a notable implication to improve our motivation and productivity.
Blue is clean, crisp, it is the color of the heavens and encourages targeted concentration and it is my favorite color. Green, is the most prolific color in nature, it comes in a variety of shades, and it is kind to the human eye in case you need to burn the midnight oil. Yellow is emotionally warm, it promotes optimism, stimulates creativity, and gives you confidence in the outcome of your task. Red, can increase our mobility, it can sharpen our alertness and it can improve our circulatory system for physical activity when needed. Surround yourself with these colors of nature, and you will experience a stimulating effect.
